Design system for a responsive web app
A Figma design system for Lizee’s circular-logistics web app: type, colour and instance-swap components to unify and speed up HiFi mockup production.

Context
In 2021, Lizee had no in-house resource to design the interfaces of its warehouse circular-logistics software. The first screens were designed and built on the framework already in place, Material UI. Faced with growing feature demand and a real need for better ergonomics, Lizee decided to overhaul the whole app in a V2, whose first HiFi mockups were delivered by an outside vendor.
As screens multiplied, building a design system became urgent to guarantee maintenance and consistency across mockup production.
Typography
Hanken Grotesk, taken from the logo, is the primary typeface: its weights cover both buttons and body copy. Oswald sets numeric data apart (dates, statistics). To avoid a web-performance hit, only its digits are loaded, which makes the file much lighter.
Colour
The night-blue brand colour is primary, a light green secondary. Semantic colours handle the various states, all ranged from light to dark (50 to 900). Contrast meets at least WCAG 2.0 AA.
Components
Some components (modals, sheets, boxes) rely on instance swap: instances are never detached, which keeps a consistent style through every design-system update.
Impact
Since 2022 the design system has evolved continuously; it even absorbed a rebrand without a hitch. Every mockup rests on a single Figma library, and new features on the same component base, shipped much faster. In numbers: 3 weeks on average for a feature’s HiFi mockups, 18 features built on the design system, 2 products (a B2B SaaS and an internal app) relying on it, and a ~200% productivity gain (production time cut in half).
